Would you like to be 100% sure that you are going to Heaven? Here's how:
1. Recognize your condition. No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his own merit. No matter how much good we do, we still fall short. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Rom. 3:23)
2. Realize the penalty for sin. Just as there are wages for good, there is punishment for wrong. The penalty for our sin is eternal death in a place called Hell. "For the wages of sin is death..." (Rom. 6:23)
3. Believe Christ died for you. Christ's great love for us was shown when He died on the cross to pay our sin debt. "But God commendeth his love for us, in that we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
4. Trust Christ alone as your Saviour. Everlasting life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith. "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.:"(Rom. 6:23b) "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Rom. 10:13)
5. Claim God's promise for salvation. "That if thou shalt confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Rom. 10:9-10)
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13)
